About TEDxUSH
TEDxUSHは、聖心女子大学の学生たちによって運営されているTEDxの団体名
およびそのイベントを指しています。
2018年末に立ち上げられ、2019年春にTED本部からライセンスを取得し、
TEDの方針を踏襲しつつ独自に運営される団体として活動をはじめました。
カトリックの聖心会としての伝統を持っており、なおかつ広尾という国際色
豊かな立地にある聖心女子大学を活発な議論のできる場とすることは非常に
有意義と考えられます。私たちは、学生のみならず多様な層の方々にとって
刺激あるイベントを作り上げようと日々尽力しております。
About TED
TEDとは、"Ideas Worth Spreading(広める価値のあるアイデア)"という指針をもって世界的なスピーチの
イベント”TED Conference”を主催する非営利団体です。
1980年代にカリフォルニアで4日間のカンファレンスとして始動したTEDは、インターネット等を通して世界中に広まり成長しました。年に2回開催されるTED Conferenceでは、世界をリードする思想家や活動家たちが
18分以内でスピーチします。これらの講演の多くは、TED.comで無料で視聴できます。
また、過去のTEDスピーカーには、ビル・ゲイツ、ジェーン・グドール、エリザベス・ギルバート、
リチャード・ブランソン、ナンダン・ニレカニ、フィリップ・スタルク、ンゴジ・オコンジョ・イウェアラ、
サルマン・カーン、ダニエル・カーネマン等がいます。
TED Conferenceは、ブリティッシュ・コロンビア州のバンクーバーで毎年春に開催されます。TEDのメディア
コンテンツは様々で、その一つとしてTED.comがあります。また、TEDでのアイデアを広めるための効果的な
手段がいくつも存在します。TED Translatorsとして 世界中のボランティアが字幕と翻訳を提供していますし、教育的な取り組みをしているTED-Edも一例です。 TEDは、大規模な変化を生み出す可能性のあるアイデアに
資金を提供するためのThe Audacious Projectを設立しました。 世界中の地域で自己組織化されたTEDスタイルのイベントを開催する個人もしくは団体にライセンスを提供するTEDx、また、優れたプロジェクトの活動を拡大
させるために世界中の改革者を選ぶTED Fellows プログラムもTEDの取り組みに含まれます。

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 30 years ago, TED has grown to support its mission with multiple initiatives. The two annual TED Conferences invite the world's leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes or less. Many of these talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Sal Khan and Daniel Kahneman.
The annual TED Conference takes place each spring in Vancouver, British Columbia. TED's media initiatives include TED.com, where new TED Talks are posted daily; TED Translators, which provides subtitles and interactive transcripts as well as translations from volunteers worldwide; the educational initiative TED-Ed. TED has established The Audacious Project that takes a collaborative approach to funding ideas with the potential to create change at thrilling scale; TEDx, which supports individuals or groups in hosting local, self- organized TED-style events around the world, and the TED Fellows program, helping world-changing innovators from around the globe to amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities.

TEDxでは"Ideas Worth Spreading"の精神を踏襲し、地元の自己組織化されたイベントのプログラムで人々を
集め、TEDのような体験を共有します。TEDxイベントでは、TED Talksビデオとライブスピーカーのスピーチを通して、深い議論とつながりが生まれます。 これらの各地で自己組織化されたイベントは、TEDxと呼ばれ
ます。xは、独立して組織されたTEDイベントを意味しています。 TED ConferenceはTEDxプログラムの一般的なガイダンスを提供しますが、私たちを含む個々のTEDxイベントは自己組織化されています。
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
